“By the late 1930’s, mechanical refrigeration had become commonplace, but many people, including my family, used the icebox throughout the 1940’s. Even though the motor driven ice truck had replaced the horse drawn ice wagon long before I was born, the iceman remained the same; tough, strong, and always willing to chip off pieces of ice for neighborhood kids on a hot summer day.
I hope my paintings evoke feelings of serenity and peace. I want to capture these emotions in my world of canvas because they sometimes elude us in the real world of today.”
